junior: xiucoatl
an aztec serpent-like creature. this was a hard one to find, but still i didn't do a great job of including features attributed to it. apparently it literally translates to "turquoise serpent" but is also known as "fire serpent". seems like opposites to me! but going on it explains that the xiucoatl is a weapon of the sun. it is called turquoise to repel fire elements, but is called the fire serpent because fire is it's nemesis. all in all, my attempt was pretty sad. i'll admit, this one gave me trouble, and in hindsight, i don't know why!
